This book started life at the beginning of COVID lockdown. As streets emptied of all but the occasional dog walker (of which I was one) or mad keen exercisers, GLOOM descended, and with it a kind of depression. So I thought if people could see a friendly face, not masked, not necessarily human, it might allow them to start each day with a smile.
